| About | Zhou Wenju, a silk hand drawn handscroll of _Huiqi Tu_ and _Collection of Painting Boxes_, was a painter of the Southern Tang Dynasty in China during the Five Dynasties period. Born in Jurong, Jiankang (now Jurong County, Jiangsu Province). The exact year of birth and death is unknown, but it was believed to have been active during the reigns of Li Jing, the middle ruler of the Southern Tang Dynasty, and Li Yu, the later ruler, from 943 to 975. The latter ruler was then a waiting official in the Hanlin. Zhou Wenju is skilled in painting Buddhism, Taoism, figures, chariots and horses, wooden houses, and landscapes, with a particular emphasis on literati.
